upper eyelid lift Klagenfurt Carinthia – the most frequently asked questions:
What anesthesia is used for upper eyelid surgery?
The ideal anesthesia is always an individual decision. We usually perform the upper eyelid lift in Klagenfurt Carinthia in local anesthesia through. The area is anaesthetized, just like at the dentist. You feel that something is happening. But it shouldn't hurt - and it doesn't... as long as enough local anaesthetic is used, it is applied well and you wait long enough for it to take effect. From the feedback we've received, it works very well for us.
An additional anesthetic is therefore usually not necessary. If necessary, this will be discussed in detail with the anesthetist. In most cases, this will involve additional twilight sleep.
Upper eyelid lift Klagenfurt Carinthia – outpatient or inpatient?
The upper eyelid lift in Klagenfurt Carinthia is carried out in a private operating room. Depending on your wishes, you can be admitted as an outpatient or with an overnight stay. In almost all cases, this operation outpatient carried out.
As an outpatient, you will be there for about half an hour and then go home. However, you should not live too far from the operating room. If you wish, an outpatient night nurse is available to help.
If you choose the overnight option, a night nurse is on site. The next morning, there is a check-up and wound inspection. And then you go home again.
Do stitches need to be removed after an upper eyelid lift? If so, when?
The stitches should ideally be removed after about a week, although there is a certain amount of time to wait. As long as the stitches are not removed, you will have a strip bandage with so-called "steristrips". These reduce local swelling, "pack" the wound in a sterile manner, protect it from shearing forces and dirt, and fix the stitches. Because the stitches are glued in place, no knot is necessary on the surface of the skin. This guarantees a stitch without the classic transverse stitch strips.
It is important that the Adhesive strips should not be removed before suture removal because that is where the suture is located. The threads should also not be shortened if they become visible under the Steristrip dressing. Otherwise, it may be difficult to locate and remove the thread at the time of the planned suture removal.
How long should I rest after an upper eyelid lift?
You should rest for 2-3 weeks. And do it with feeling and common sense. The basic rule is: do not lift more than 5kg, do not make sudden movements, do not work upside down (bend your knees when tying your shoes), etc.
But you are not sick. That means you should move around, but just take care of the operated area. When lying down, turning to the left and right is allowed and advisable. Otherwise you risk back pain if you just lie on your back with cramps. Obviously you should not lie on the operated area or the surgical wound itself.
How much does my upper eyelid lift cost?

All decisions should have been made by the second consultation at the latest. From then on, an exact calculation of the costs and the price is possible.
