Your tummy tuck in Klagenfurt Carinthia – the most frequently asked questions:

What anesthesia is used?

This is decided in consultation with the surgeon and anesthetist. We offer both the option twilight sleep as well as the gentle general anesthesia possible. Both have certain advantages and disadvantages. Ultimately, it is usually an individual decision. Most patients opt for twilight sleep. Certain advantages are:

  • the Muscle pump is active during surgery, the blood is better moved in the body, the risk of thrombosis is thereby reduced
  • get back on the road faster – You can go from the operating table to your own bed (with help). Even if you can't remember it most of the time, you get fit again more quickly and are mobile more quickly
  • Less and gentler anesthetics usually means less nausea or vomiting

Do I have to stay overnight for my tummy tuck in Klagenfurt, Carinthia?

The tummy tuck in Klagenfurt is performed in a private operating room. In this case, we recommend the accommodation with one overnight stay on site.

Day surgery would theoretically be possible, but we do not recommend it. However, you will always be on site for at least 3-4 hours before you can go home if necessary. However, you should not live too far from the operating room.

If requested, an outpatient night nurse is available to assist.

If you choose the overnight option, a night nurse is on site. The day after the operation, in the morning, a control with dressing change. And then it's back home.

Do stitches need to be removed after a tummy tuck? If so, when?

We use self-dissolving seams. Therefore, there are no stitches to remove. After about 10 days, an inspection is carried out to see where stitches above the surface are shortened.

How long should I rest after a tummy tuck in Klagenfurt, Carinthia?

You should take it easy for 2-3 weeks. Do this with sensitivity and common sense. The basic rule is: do not lift more than 5kg, do not make sudden movements, do not work overhead.

But you are not sick. That means you should move around, but just take care of the operated area. When lying down, turning to the left and right is allowed and advisable. Otherwise you risk back pain if you just lie on your back with cramps. Obviously you should not lie on the operated area or the surgical wound itself.

For the first few days, you should walk slightly bent over and take the pressure off the operated abdominal area. Wearing a special corset is recommended for 5-6 weeks. The corset/compression garment should be worn for approximately 24 hours (including at night).

Corsets after tummy tuck should be worn as much as possible for 5-6 weeks.

How much does my tummy tuck cost?

Prices and Costs can be found as a separate section in our stories. The following factors play a role in the costs: day surgery or overnight stay, planned duration of the operation and difficulty or effort of the operation (with surgery for an umbilical hernia, with tightening of a rectus diastasis = weak abdominal wall, etc.).

In a detailed first consultation, the costs can usually be calculated very precisely. All decisions should have been made by the second consultation at the latest. From then on, an exact calculation of the costs and the price is possible.
