In most cases, a very heavy and large breast causes severe back and neck pain, which can lead to posture problems in the long term. In addition, sore spots and infections often occur in the under-breast fold. Breast reduction can help here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For breast reduction, you will be given an antibiotic to counteract the risk of infection. The breast reduction takes about two hours and is performed under gentle general anesthesia. The anesthesiologist will accompany you throughout the entire breast reduction and monitor all of your values closely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After breast reduction, we recommend that you spend one night in the operation. You should rest the operated area for 2-3 weeks. However, the rest of the body is not ill and should be used and moved. A sports bra should be worn for 4-6 weeks to relieve pressure and to help it shape. Satisfaction after breast reduction is generally very high. This applies to all operations. In principle, the shorter the incision, the better. However, a longer incision can also result in a better shape. So it&#039;s important to find a suitable compromise.<\/p>\n<p>Before surgery, scars and their length are of course always an issue. After surgery, I have usually found that a shape that is as perfect as possible seems more important than trying to save scar length at all costs.<\/p>\n<p>The best option is always an individual compromise between shape and scar length. The incision should be long enough to produce the best possible shape with the shortest possible scar.<\/p>\n<p>This usually means a cut around the nipple and at least vertically downwards. How much excess skin is removed in the area of the under-breast fold often becomes clear during the operation. I try to keep this cut as short as possible. In any case, scars near the breastbone or towards the armpit should be avoided as much as possible - they tend to be wider and firmer there. Therefore, I usually remove glandular tissue mainly from the bottom\/outside so as not to endanger the bridge to the top\/inside. This usually allows the nipple to rotate upwards in a very relaxed manner. Everything has been tried - from inner bras to flaps to artificial tissue (sometimes even attached to the collarbones) - it just only works to a limited extent. If the upper pole of the breast = d\u00e9collet\u00e9 is very important to you, you should therefore (as strange as that may sound) consider a breast implant for the upper pole.
