True gynecomastia with firm glandular tissue behind the nipple cannot usually be suctioned out - so at least a small incision is necessary to remove the firm tissue.<\/p>\n If excess skin occurs (which often cannot be predicted exactly before or during surgery), then a ring-shaped removal of the excess around the areola is necessary and sensible.<\/p>\n If the patient can imagine a second procedure, they can relax and wait for the excess skin to be tightened. The incision around the nipple can be very annoying - and even more so when bathing.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n\r\n Pre-operative assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n Before an operation for a true gynecomastia, it is usually advisable to carry out a hormone status test together with the urologist. An ultrasound can also help with the clarification before treatment.
